ASUS' stylish new NX90 laptop features B&O speakers and a high-definition flat-screen
ASUS chairman Jonney Shih has introduced some of the company's latest designs at CES 2010 and a noteworthy inclusion was the ASUS NX90 Bang & Olufsen ICEpower notebook – a handsome and functional laptop which was designed in conjunction with Bang & Olufsen’s lead designer, David Lewis. The NX90 features a smooth, polished aluminum body and palm rest that coordinate perfectly with the sleek dark keyboard and dual touchpads – which together with the desktop software - are designed to be used much like a DJ’s mixing desk. The B&O ICEpower speakers sit either side of the high-definition flat screen and are designed to produce flawless surround-sound audio – this is definitely a laptop designed for the living room, not the home office.  Read More

Mayo researchers collaborating with investigators at the University of Iowa, University of Connecticut and New York University (NYU) have discovered a molecular mechanism that controls energy expenditure in muscles and helps determine body weight. New from electronics maker Parrot comes the AR.Drone, a Wi-Fi helicopter with dual cameras and augmented-reality video streaming, that you control using your iPhone or iPod Touch. Although the RC flyer is still in the prototype stage, Parrot has been demonstrating it at the 2010 CES show in Las Vegas. The AR.Drone features four rotors and interchangeable hulls for flying both indoors and outside. Sony and Panasonic propose 66.8GB Blu-ray discs
Sony and Panasonic have announced a new technology that would increase the capacity of a single-layer Blu-ray disc from 25GB to 33.4GB. The new technology, dubbed i-MLSE (Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation) evaluation index, is achievable using existing Blu-ray laser diodes, and can subsequently be added to existing Blu-ray players with a firmware upgrade.  Read More
